conclusion:
I’m sitting with my grandpa on the soft, leather couch which because he is helping me do my ballistick homework. The reason why I call it ballistick is because it’s stupendously hard! I just woke up on Saturday and Grandpa says to come do my homework.
I listen to Grandpa as I get hooked into the world of compensating.”So this is what you do, if you’re doing 57 plus 29, you have to take 1 from 57 and give it to the 29 so it becomes…?” “uh,uh, 56 plus 30?,” I say nervously, “correct Pete,” says Grandpa and yes, my name is Pete, “So what’s 56 plus 30?,” my Grandpa asks me, I think quickly and desperately, looking at my Grandpa’s face, it looks serious, then I answer, “86?,” he sighs, oh no, have I got it wrong?his mouth is opening, what is he going to say? “yes, Pete, yes.”
I take a sigh of relief, I tell myself, “well done.” grandpa starts telling me to do that same method on every equation on the paper.
I love math, even when their are hard methods like compensating. literacy is my favourite subject but apart from that, I think math is awesome and if you don’t believe me just because it’s hard for you, well you should.
